The Sunset Copper Star North occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 140 metres on the south side of an east facing valley, approximately 2 kilometres north of Jasper Lake.

The area is underlain by a very thick, gently dipping to flat-lying sequence of Upper Triassic submarine volcanic flows of the Karmutsen Formation. Locally minor interflow sediments occur.

Locally, epidote-quartz veins and stockworks host chalcocite mineralization and malachite staining.

In 2018, Rich River Exploration Ltd. completed a program of rock, soil and silt sampling on the area as the Sunset Copper Star property. Two grab samples (32314 and 32315) collected from a trench along the northern logging road return 1.225 and 3.72 per cent copper with 4.19 and 12.3 grams per tonne silver, respectively (MacIntyre, D.
